Capital Network is a network of relationships committed to the breaking of down of barriers between races, cultures and churches, promoting unity and the building up of relationships and churches that the world may see that we are one in Christ Jesus.
We recognise that Christian Leadership can be a lonely experience. Capital Network was formed in June 1991, to build relationships and support between leaders, encouraging them and their churches to grow and develop, to engender love and care for one another.
From its inception, a number of leaders committed themselves to the vision and are continually learning to love and trust one another.
Vision
The elements of the vision of Capital Network are:
-
To minister to Ministers - caring for another.
-
To break down barriers between races, cultures and churches that the world may see that we are one.
-
To help each other in building the local church by providing help, resource, encouragement and ministry.
-
To build relationships and cultivate a sense of belonging.
-
To help evangelise Britain.
-
To be involved in missions beyond.
Caring and Sharing
To enable us to achieve the ideals identified within the vision, we hold key leaders meetings where we learn more about each other and pray for one another as we share joys and burdens. This building of relationships has proved very beneficial as leaders so often feel lonely. This forum enables leaders to draw support from, learn from and feel the care and concern of others.
Leaders Days
Leaders days vary as we consider different themes and examine issues facing the church today.
-
What is God saying to His church today?
-
How does this affect us?
-
Has the Bible got answers to contemporary problems?
-
How do we prepare today’s church for tomorrow’s world?
-
Are we culturally relevant?
There is often a question and sharing time which is very popular. Teaching and help for leaders is much appreciated.
Celebrations
Times of celebration are held where all members of the network and their congregations are invited to come and worship the Lord and meet with each other. At our celebration meetings many are blessed, renewed, re-envisioned, refreshed, healed and in accord with Ephesians 5:18, just simply ‘get drunk in the Spirit.’
We have been able to help some individual churches although our desire is to be able to do more, especially in the area of evangelism and sharing of resources.
To facilitate the building of trust, and the common shared objective of communicating the gospel and learning from each other, key leaders have shared pulpits and engaged in a range of joint initiatives. These have proven of benefit to leaders.
Capital Network is a network of relationships committed to the breaking down of barriers between races, cultures and churches, promoting unity and the building up of relationships and churches that the world may see that we are one in Christ Jesus, also desiring to see the nations won for Christ.
Apart from meetings with key leaders we meet several times a year as a wider group. All Christian Leaders are welcome.
