 Who is Ray Booth? Why does he come to Denmark? What does he do when he is here?
Ray says "In 2002 I celebrated my 60 th birthday and 40 yrs of marriage to my dear wife Jean. We have a son and two daughters who are all married to Christian partners and they are serving the Lord in leadership positions in different churches. They have given us eight grand children. The eldest is nearly 15 and the youngest is 5. The eldest three have all recently been baptised as believers.
We live in Sheffield in the north of England where we have worked and served the Lord all of our lives apart from 5yrs when we were part of a ministry team that led a large church in Woking which is near London."
Ray has been called a church doctor. One who is able to fix things.
Ray says "So what do I do? First I develop friendship with the leaders and their church. Then I help them to turn their dreams into realities. After 30 yrs of building church I have learned some things that work and some things that don't. I help leaders to change their style of leadership so that the church can continue to grow and the people can be properly cared for and developed.
Birthing churches is like birthing children. When the child is born the work is not finished but just beginning, there is then the responsibility and privilege of raising the child to a place of maturity. It is the same with building church, which involves helping people to become Christians, then turning those people into leaders, then helping those people to build church so that others might become Christians and so the Kingdom of God grows. So that is something of what I do.
What does all this mean to me?
All of my life and ministry has been preparing me for what I am doing now. It is a fulfilment of the prophecies over my life. It means that I feel that I am right in the middle of God's will for me and that is a good place to be. I thoroughly enjoy what I do and the friendships and love that I share with the leaders and churches with which I work is very satisfying.
